I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength,2 that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service.313
Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor4 and a violent man, I was shown mercy5 because I acted in ignorance and unbelief.614
The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly,7 along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.815
Here is a trustworthy saying9 that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners10--of whom I am the worst.
But for that very reason I was shown mercy11 so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience12 as an example for those who would believe13 on him and receive eternal life.1417
Now to the King15 eternal, immortal,16 invisible,17 the only God,18 be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.1918
