1 Be R1538 gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; According to the greatness of Your R1539 compassion blot R1540 out my transgressions. 2 Wash R1541 me thoroughly from my iniquity And cleanse R1542 me from my sin. 3 For I F459 know R1543 my transgressions, And my sin is ever before me. 4 Against R1544 You, You only, I have sinned And done what is evil R1545 in Your sight, So that You R1546 are F460 justified when F461 You speak And blameless F462 when You judge. 5 Behold, I was brought R1547 forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me. 6 Behold, You desire truth R1548 in the innermost F463 being, And in the hidden part You will make R1549 me know wisdom.
7 Purify F464 me with R1550 hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash F465 me, and I shall be whiter R1551 than snow. 8 Make F466 me to hear joy R1552 and gladness, Let the bones R1553 which You have broken rejoice. 9 Hide R1554 Your face from my sins And blot out all my iniquities. 10 Create R1555 in F467 me a clean R1556 heart, O God, And renew a F468 steadfast R1557 spirit within me. 11 Do R1558 not cast me away from Your presence And do not take Your Holy R1559 Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy R1560 of Your salvation And sustain me with a willing R1561 spirit. 13 {Then} I will teach R1562 transgressors Your ways, And sinners will be F469 converted R1563 to You.
14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, R1564 O God, the R1565 God of my salvation; {Then} my tongue R1566 will joyfully sing of Your righteousness. 15 O Lord, open F470 R1567 my lips, That my mouth may declare R1568 Your praise. 16 For You do R1569 not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it; You are not pleased with burnt offering. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken R1570 spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. 18 By R1571 Your favor do good to Zion; Build F471 R1572 the walls of Jerusalem. 19 Then You will delight in righteous F472 R1573 sacrifices, In burnt R1574 offering and whole burnt offering; Then young F473 bulls will be offered on Your altar.
