Therefore the prudent man keeps quiet1 in such times, for the times are evil.214
Seek good, not evil, that you may live.3 Then the LORD God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is.

Hate evil,4 love good;5 maintain justice in the courts.6 Perhaps7 the LORD God Almighty will have mercy8 on the remnant9 of Joseph.

Therefore this is what the Lord, the LORD God Almighty, says: "There will be wailing10 in all the streets11 and cries of anguish in every public square. The farmers12 will be summoned to weep and the mourners to wail.

There will be wailing13 in all the vineyards, for I will pass through14 your midst," says the LORD.15

Woe to you who long for the day of the LORD!16 Why do you long for the day of the LORD?17 That day will be darkness,18 not light.1919
It will be as though a man fled from a lion only to meet a bear,20 as though he entered his house and rested his hand on the wall only to have a snake bite him.2120
Will not the day of the LORD be darkness,22 not light-- pitch-dark, without a ray of brightness?2321
"I hate,24 I despise your religious feasts;25 I cannot stand your assemblies.2622
Even though you bring me burnt offerings27 and grain offerings, I will not accept them.2829 Though you bring choice fellowship offerings,a I will have no regard for them.303123
