261What is the outcome then, 2brethren ? When you assemble, 3eachonehas a 4psalm, has a 5teaching, has a 6revelation, has a 7tongue, has an 8interpretation. Let 9allthings be done for edification.
27Ifanyonespeaks in a 10tongue, it should be by twoor at the mostthree, and each in turn, and one must 11interpret ;
28
but if there is nointerpreter, he must keepsilent in the church ; and let him speak to himself and to God.
29
Let twoorthree12prophetsspeak, and let the others13passjudgment.
30
But if a revelation is made to another who is seated, the first one must keepsilent.
31
For you canallprophesyone by one , so that all may learn and all may be exhorted ;
32
and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets ;
33
for God is not a God of 14confusion but of apeace, as in 15all the churches of the 16saints.
34
The women are to 17keepsilent in the churches ; for they are not permitted to speak, but 18are to subject themselves, just as 19the Lawalsosays.
35If they desire to learnanything, let them ask their ownhusbands at home ; for it is bimproper for a woman to speak in church.
36cWas it from you that the word of God first wentforth ? Or has it come to you only ?
3720Ifanyonethinks he is a prophetor21spiritual, let him recognize that the things which I write to you 22are the Lord'scommandment.
38
But ifanyone does not recognize this, he dis not recognized.
39Therefore, my brethren, 23desireearnestly to 24prophesy, and do not forbid to speak in tongues.
40
But 25allthings must be doneproperly and in an orderlymanner.
