the one who practices sin is 1of the devil ; for the devil ahas sinned from the beginning. 2The Son of God 3appeared for this purpose, 4to destroy the works of the devil.

No one who is b5born of God 6practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is cborn of God.

By this the 7children of God and the 8children of the devil are obvious : danyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who 9does not love his 10brother.
