81Deacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued,a2not addicted to much wine, 3not greedy for dishonest gain.
They must 4hold the mystery of the faith with 5a clear conscience.
And 6let them also be tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless.
117Their wives likewise mustb be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, 8faithful in all things.
Let deacons each be 9the husband of one wife, 10managing their children and their own households well.
For 11those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.
