Timothy, my son,1 I give you this instruction in keeping with the prophecies once made about you,2 so that by following them you may fight the good fight,319
holding on to faith and a good conscience.4 Some have rejected these and so have shipwrecked their faith.520
Among them are Hymenaeus6 and Alexander,7 whom I have handed over to Satan8 to be taught not to blaspheme.
