20 Then Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife and say, "May the LORD give you children from this woman in place of the one she dedicated to the LORD." And they went to their own home. 11 The men of Israel went out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, and struck them down as far as below Beth-car. 2 Saul was staying in the outskirts of Gibeah under the pomegranate tree which is in Migron. And the people who were with him were about six hundred men, 9 "If they say to us, 'Wait until we come to you'; then we will stand in our place and not go up to them. 6 Then Saul heard that David and the men who were with him had been discovered. Now Saul was sitting in Gibeah, under the tamarisk tree on the height with his spear in his hand, and all his servants were standing around him. 19 "For if a man finds his enemy, will he let him go away safely ? May the LORD therefore reward you with good in return for what you have done to me this day. 21 Then Saul said, "I have sinned. Return, my son David, for I will not harm you again because my life was precious in your sight this day. Behold, I have played the fool and have committed a serious error." 13 They took their bones and buried them under the tamarisk tree at Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
