1 Timothy 1:15-16; 1 Timothy 2:1; 1 Timothy 2:13; 1 Timothy 3:10; 1 Timothy 5:4; 1 Timothy 5:12 (New American Standard)

15 It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all. 16 Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.

A Call to Prayer

1 First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, 13 For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve. 10 These men must also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons if they are beyond reproach. 4 but if any widow has children or grandchildren, they must first learn to practice piety in regard to their own family and to make some return to their parents; for this is acceptable in the sight of God. 12 thus incurring condemnation, because they have set aside their previous pledge.
