11Now afterthis it came about that Davidadefeated the Philistines and subdued them; and Davidtookbcontrol of the chiefcity from the hand of the Philistines.
22He cdefeated3Moab, and measured them with the line, making them liedown on the ground ; and he measuredtwolines to put to death and one fullline to keepalive. And 4the Moabitesbecameservants to David, 5bringingtribute.

Then Davidddefeated6Hadadezer, the son of Rehobking of Zobah, as 7he went to restore his erule at the fRiver.
4Davidcaptured from him 1,700horsemen and 20,000footsoldiers ; and David8hamstrung the chariothorses, but reserved enough of them for 100chariots.

When 9the Arameans of Damascuscame to helpHadadezer, king of Zobah, Davidgkilled22,000Arameans.

Then Davidputgarrisons among the Arameans of Damascus, and 10the Arameansbecameservants to David, bringingtribute. And 11the LORDhelpedDavidwherever he went.
7Davidtook the shields of goldwhich were hcarried by the servants of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem.

From iBetah and from 12Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, KingDavidtook a verylarge amount of bronze.

Now when Toiking of 13Hamathheard that David had jdefeatedall the army of Hadadezer,
10ToisentkJoram his son to KingDavid to lgreet him and bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and mdefeated him; for Hadadezernhad been at war with Toi. And oJoram brought with him articles of silver, of gold and of bronze.
11KingDavidalso14dedicated these to the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated from all the nationswhich he had subdued :

from pAram and 15Moab and 16the sons of Ammon and 17the Philistines and 18Amalek, and from the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.

So 19Davidmade a name for himself when he returned from qkilling18,000rArameans in 20the Valley of Salt.

He putgarrisons in Edom. In allEdom he putgarrisons, and 21all the Edomitesbecameservants to David. And 22the LORDhelpedDavidwherever he went.
