4therefore, we ourselves1speakproudly of you among2the churches of God for your aperseverance and faith3in the midst of all your persecutions and afflictionswhich you endure.
5
This is a 4plainindication of God'srighteousjudgmentso that you will be 5consideredworthy of the kingdom of God, for whichindeed you are suffering.
6bFor afterall6it is only justcfor God to repay with afflictionthose who afflict you,
7
and to give relief to you who are afflicteddand to us as well e7when the LordJesus will be revealed8from heaven9with fHis mightyangels10in flamingfire,
8dealing out retribution to those who 11do not knowGod and to those who 12do not obey the gospel of our LordJesus.
9These will pay the penalty of 13eternaldestruction, 14away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,
10when He comes to be 15glorifiedgin His hsaints on that 16day, and to be marveled at amongall who have believed -for our 17testimony to you was believed.
