1Now we request you, 1brethren, with regard to the a2coming of our LordJesusChrist and our 3gatheringtogether to Him,
that you not be quicklyshaken from your bcomposureor be disturbedeither by a 4spiritor a c5messageor a 6letter as if from us, to the effect that 7the day of the Lord8has come.
39Let noone in anywaydeceive you, for it will not come unless the d10apostasycomesfirst, and the 11man of lawlessness is revealed, the 12son of destruction,
who opposes and exalts himself abovee13everyso-calledgodorobject of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, 14displayinghimself as beingGod.
Do you not remember that 15while I was still with you, I was telling you thesethings?
And you know16what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed.
For 17the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only18he who nowrestrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.
8Then that lawlessone19will be revealedwhom the Lord will slay20with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the 21appearance of His fcoming;
that is, the one whosegcoming is in accord with the activity of 22Satan, with allpower and h23signs and falsewonders,
and with iall the deception of wickedness for 24those who perish, because they did not receive the love of 25the truthso as to be saved.
For thisreason26Godjwill send upon them ka 27deludinginfluenceso that they will believelwhat is false,
in order that they all may be mjudged who 28did not believe the truth, but n29tookpleasure in wickedness.
