16 And it came to pass, when Joab observed the city, that he assigned Uriah unto a place where he knew that valiant men were. 16 And the king went forth , and all his household after him. And the king left ten women, which were concubines, to keep the house. 21 And Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Go in unto thy father's concubines, which he hath left to keep the house; and all Israel shall hear that thou art abhorred of thy father: then shall the hands of all that are with thee be strong . 12 And the man said unto Joab, Though I should receive a thousand shekels of silver in mine hand, yet would I not put forth mine hand against the king's son: for in our hearing the king charged thee and Abishai and Ittai, saying , Beware that none touch the young man Absalom. 3 And David came to his house at Jerusalem; and the king took the ten women his concubines, whom he had left to keep the house, and put them in ward, and fed them, but went not in unto them. So they were shut up unto the day of their death , living in widowhood. 10 But Amasa took no heed to the sword that was in Joab's hand: so he smote him therewith in the fifth rib, and shed out his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again ; and he died . So Joab and Abishai his brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri. 22 For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God. 24 I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity. 44 Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me. 5 Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure : for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow .
