1Now when Festus was come into the province,afterthreedays he ascendedfromCaesareatoJerusalem.2Then the high priestand the chief of the JewsinformedhimagainstPaul,andbesoughthim,3
And desiredfavouragainsthim,that he would send forhimtoJerusalem,layingwaitin the way to killhim.4ButFestusanswered , that Paul should be keptatCaesarea,and that he himselfwoulddepartshortly thither.

Let them therefore,said he, which amongyou are able, go down with me, and accusethisman,if there be any wickednessinhim.6And when he had tarriedamongthemmoreathantendays, he went downuntoCaesarea; and the next daysittingon the judgment seatcommandedPaul to be brought .
7And when he was come , the Jews which came downfromJerusalem stood round about , andlaidmany and grievouscomplaintsagainstPaul,which they couldnotprove .

While he answered for himself,Neitheragainst the law of the Jews,neitheragainst the temple, nor yetagainstCaesar, have I offended any thing at all.9ButFestus,willing to do the Jews a pleasure,answeredPaul, and said , Wilt thou go uptoJerusalem, and there be judgedof these thingsbeforeme?10ThensaidPaul, I standatCaesar's judgment seat,whereIought to be judged : to the Jews have I donenowrong , asthou very wellknowest .
11ForifI be an offender , or have committed any thingworthy of death, I refusenot to die : butif there benone of these things whereof theseaccuseme, no manmaydeliverme unto them. I appeal untoCaesar.12ThenFestus, when he had conferredwith the council,answered , Hast thou appealed untoCaesar?untoCaesar shalt thou go .
