9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you,¹ we have not stopped praying for you² and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will³ through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.⁴ 10 And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy⁵ of the Lord and may please him⁶ in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,⁷ 11 being strengthened with all power⁸ according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience,⁹ and joyfully 12 giving thanks to the Father,¹⁰ who has qualified you^a to share in the inheritance¹¹ of the saints in the kingdom of light.¹² 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness¹³ and brought us into the kingdom¹⁴ of the Son he loves,¹⁵
