View In My Bible
23 I will place over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he will tend1 them; he will tend them and be their shepherd.2 24 I the LORD will be their God,3 and my servant David4 will be prince among them.5 I the LORD have spoken.6 25 " 'I will make a covenant7 of peace8 with them and rid the land of wild beasts9 so that they may live in the desert and sleep in the forests in safety.10 26 I will bless11 them and the places surrounding my hill.a I will send down showers in season;12 there will be showers of blessing.13 27 The trees of the field will yield their fruit14 and the ground will yield its crops;15 the people will be secure16 in their land. They will know that I am the LORD, when I break the bars of their yoke17 and rescue them from the hands of those who enslaved them.18 28 They will no longer be plundered by the nations, nor will wild animals devour them. They will live in safety,19 and no one will make them afraid.20 29 I will provide for them a land renowned21 for its crops, and they will no longer be victims of famine22 in the land or bear the scorn23 of the nations.24 30 Then they will know that I, the LORD their God, am with them and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, declares the Sovereign LORD.25 31 You my sheep,26 the sheep of my pasture,27 are people, and I am your God, declares the Sovereign LORD.'
