God came from Teman,1 the Holy One2 from Mount Paran.3 "Selah"a His glory covered the heavens4 and his praise filled the earth.54
His splendor was like the sunrise;6 rays flashed from his hand, where his power7 was hidden.
Plague8 went before him; pestilence followed his steps.
He stood, and shook the earth; he looked, and made the nations tremble. The ancient mountains crumbled9 and the age-old hills10 collapsed.11 His ways are eternal.127
I saw the tents of Cushan in distress, the dwellings of Midian13 in anguish.148
Were you angry with the rivers,15 O LORD? Was your wrath against the streams? Did you rage against the sea16 when you rode with your horses and your victorious chariots?179
You uncovered your bow, you called for many arrows.18 "Selah" You split the earth with rivers;
the mountains saw you and writhed.19 Torrents of water swept by; the deep roared20 and lifted its waves21 on high.
Sun and moon stood still22 in the heavens at the glint of your flying arrows,23 at the lightning24 of your flashing spear.
In wrath you strode through the earth and in anger you threshed25 the nations.
You came out26 to deliver27 your people, to save your anointed28 one. You crushed29 the leader of the land of wickedness, you stripped him from head to foot. "Selah"
With his own spear you pierced his head when his warriors stormed out to scatter us,30 gloating as though about to devour the wretched31 who were in hiding.
You trampled the sea32 with your horses, churning the great waters.33
