Forifthatfirst covenant had beenfaultless, then shouldnoplace have been sought for the second.

For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the dayscome, saith the Lord,when I will make a newcovenantwith the house of Israelandwith the house of Judah:

Not according to the covenantthat I made withtheirfathersin the day when I tookthem by the handtoleadthem out of the land of Egypt;becausetheycontinuednotinmycovenant, and Iregardedthemnot, saith the Lord.

Forthis is the covenantthat I will make with the house of Israelafterthosedays,saith the Lord; I will put[a]mylawsintotheirmind,andwritethemintheirhearts:and I will betothem a God,andthey shall betome a people:

And they shallnotteach every manhisneighbour,and every manhisbrother,saying, Know the Lord:forall shall knowme,from the least*to the greatest*.

For I will bemerciful to theirunrighteousness,andtheirsinsandtheiriniquities will I remembernomore.

In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the firstold. Now that which decayethand waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
