Woe to those who go to great depths to hide1 their plans from the LORD, who do their work in darkness and think, "Who sees us?2 Who will know?"316
You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like the clay!4 Shall what is formed say to the one who formed5 it, "You did not make me"? Can the pot say to the potter,6 "You know nothing"?717
In a very short time,8 will not Lebanon9 be turned into a fertile field10 and the fertile field seem like a forest?1118
In that day12 the deaf13 will hear the words of the scroll, and out of gloom and darkness14 the eyes of the blind will see.1519
Once more the humble16 will rejoice in the LORD; the needy17 will rejoice in the Holy One18 of Israel.
The ruthless19 will vanish,20 the mockers21 will disappear, and all who have an eye for evil22 will be cut down--
those who with a word make someone out to be guilty, who ensnare the defender in court23 and with false testimony24 deprive the innocent of justice.2522
Therefore this is what the LORD, who redeemed26 Abraham,27 says to the house of Jacob: "No longer will Jacob be ashamed;28 no longer will their faces grow pale.2923
When they see among them their children,30 the work of my hands,31 they will keep my name holy;32 they will acknowledge the holiness of the Holy One33 of Jacob, and will stand in awe of the God of Israel.
Those who are wayward34 in spirit will gain understanding;35 those who complain will accept instruction."36
