In a very short time,1 will not Lebanon2 be turned into a fertile field3 and the fertile field seem like a forest?418
In that day5 the deaf6 will hear the words of the scroll, and out of gloom and darkness7 the eyes of the blind will see.819
Once more the humble9 will rejoice in the LORD; the needy10 will rejoice in the Holy One11 of Israel.
The ruthless12 will vanish,13 the mockers14 will disappear, and all who have an eye for evil15 will be cut down--
those who with a word make a man out to be guilty, who ensnare the defender in court16 and with false testimony17 deprive the innocent of justice.1822
Therefore this is what the LORD, who redeemed19 Abraham,20 says to the house of Jacob: "No longer will Jacob be ashamed;21 no longer will their faces grow pale.2223
When they see among them their children,23 the work of my hands,24 they will keep my name holy;25 they will acknowledge the holiness of the Holy One26 of Jacob, and will stand in awe of the God of Israel.
Those who are wayward27 in spirit will gain understanding;28 those who complain will accept instruction."29
