"The poor and needy search for water,1 but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst.2 But I the LORD will answer3 them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake4 them.
18
I will make rivers flow5 on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert6 into pools of water,7 and the parched ground into springs.8

I will put in the desert9 the cedar and the acacia,10 the myrtle and the olive. I will set pines11 in the wasteland, the fir and the cypress12 together,13
