"The poor and needy search for water,1 but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst.2 But I the LORD will answer3 them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake4 them.
I will make rivers flow5 on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert6 into pools of water,7 and the parched ground into springs.819
I will put in the desert9 the cedar and the acacia,10 the myrtle and the olive. I will set pines11 in the wasteland, the fir and the cypress12 together,1320
so that people may see and know,14 may consider and understand,15 that the hand16 of the LORD has done this, that the Holy One17 of Israel has created18 it.

"Bring in [ your idols] to tell us what is going to happen.21 Tell us what the former things22 were, so that we may consider them and know their final outcome. Or declare to us the things to come,2323
tell us what the future holds, so we may know24 that you are gods. Do something, whether good or bad,25 so that we will be dismayed26 and filled with fear.
