"Here is the fate God allots to the wicked, the heritage a ruthless man receives from the Almighty:114
However many his children,2 their fate is the sword;3 his offspring will never have enough to eat.415
The plague will bury those who survive him, and their widows will not weep for them.516
Though he heaps up silver like dust6 and clothes like piles of clay,717
what he lays up8 the righteous will wear,9 and the innocent will divide his silver.1018
The house11 he builds is like a moth's cocoon,12 like a hut13 made by a watchman.
19
He lies down wealthy, but will do so no more;14 when he opens his eyes, all is gone.1520
Terrors16 overtake him like a flood;17 a tempest snatches him away in the night.1821
The east wind19 carries him off, and he is gone;20 it sweeps him out of his place.2122
It hurls itself against him without mercy22 as he flees headlong23 from its power.2423
It claps its hands25 in derision and hisses him out of his place.26
