But those who suffer1 he delivers in their suffering;2 he speaks3 to them in their affliction.4

"He is wooing5 you from the jaws of distress to a spacious place6 free from restriction,7 to the comfort of your table8 laden with choice food.9

But now you are laden with the judgment due the wicked;10 judgment and justice have taken hold of you.11

Be careful that no one entices you by riches; do not let a large bribe12 turn you aside.13

Would your wealth14 or even all your mighty efforts sustain you so you would not be in distress?
20
Do not long for the night,15 to drag people away from their homes.a
21
Beware of turning to evil,16 which you seem to prefer to affliction.17

"God is exalted in his power.18 Who is a teacher like him?19

Who has prescribed his ways20 for him,21 or said to him, 'You have done wrong'?22
