But the Pharisees and the a1lawyersrejectedGod'spurpose for themselves, not having been baptized by bJohn.
31"To whatthen shall I compare the men of thisgeneration, and what are they like?32"They are likechildren who sit in the marketplace and call to oneanother, and they say, 'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not weep.'33"For John the Baptist has come2eatingnobread and drinkingnowine, and you say, 'He has a demon!'34"The Son of Man has comeeating and drinking, and you say, 'Behold, a gluttonousman and a cdrunkard, a friend of taxcollectors and dsinners!'35"Yetwisdom3is vindicated by all her children."36Nowone of the Pharisees was requesting Him to edine with him, and He entered the Pharisee'shouse and reclined at the table.
374And there was a woman in the citywho was a fsinner; and when she learned that He was reclining at the table in the Pharisee'shouse, she brought an alabastervial of perfume,
and standingbehind Him at His feet, weeping, she began to wet His feet with her tears, and kept wiping them with the hair of her head, and kissing His feet and anointing them with the perfume.
39Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he said to himself, "Ifthisman were 5a prophet He would knowwho and whatsort of personthiswoman is who is touching Him, that she is a gsinner."
And Jesusanswered him, "Simon, I havesomething to say to you." And he hreplied, "Say it, Teacher."

And He said to him, "You have judgedcorrectly."44Turningtoward the woman, He said to Simon, "Do you seethiswoman?
