121On the nextday, when they had leftBethany, He became hungry.
13Seeing at a distance a figtree in leaf, He went to see ifperhaps He would findanything on it; and when He came to it, He foundnothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.
He said to it, "May nooneevereatfruit from you again!" And His disciples were listening.
152Then they came to Jerusalem. And He entered the temple and began to drive out those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the moneychangers and the seats of those who were sellingadoves;
and He would not permitanyone to carrybmerchandisethrough the temple.
And He began to teach and say to them, "Is it not written, '3MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER FOR ALL THE NATIONS '? 4But you have made it a ROBBERS'cDEN."18
The chiefpriests and the scribesheard this, and 5began seekinghow to destroy Him; for they were afraid of Him, for 6the wholecrowd was astonished at His teaching.
