Micah 7:2-5 (New International Version)

View In My Bible
2 The godly have been swept from the land;1 not one2 upright man remains. All men lie in wait3 to shed blood;4 each hunts his brother5 with a net.6 3 Both hands are skilled in doing evil;7 the ruler demands gifts, the judge accepts bribes,8 the powerful dictate what they desire-- they all conspire together. 4 The best of them is like a brier,9 the most upright worse than a thorn10 hedge. The day of your watchmen has come, the day God visits you. Now is the time of their confusion.11 5 Do not trust a neighbor; put no confidence in a friend.12 Even with her who lies in your embrace be careful of your words.
