But I hopeain the LordJesus to 1send2Timothy to you shortly, so that I also may be encouraged when I learn of your condition .
20
For I havenoone else 3of kindredspiritwho will genuinely be concerned for your welfare.
21
For they all4seekafter their own interests, not those of ChristJesus.
22
But you know5of his provenworth, that 6he served with me in the furtherance of the gospel7like a child serving his father.
238Therefore I hope to send him immediately, as soon as I seehowthings go with me;
24
and 9I trust in the Lord that I myselfalso will be comingshortly.
25
But I thought it necessary to send to you 10Epaphroditus, my brother and 11fellowworker and 12fellowsoldier, who is also your b13messenger and 14minister to my need ;
26because he was longingcfor you all and was distressedbecause you had heard that he was sick.
27
For indeed he was sick to the point of death, but Godhadmercy on him, and not on him only but also on me, so that I would not havesorrow upon sorrow.
28Therefore I have sent him all the moreeagerlyso that when you see him again you may rejoice and I may be lessconcerned about you.
2915Receive him then in the Lord with alljoy, and 16holdmenlike him in highregard ;
30because he cameclose to deathd17for the work of Christ, risking his life to 18completeewhat was deficient in your service to me.
