At the head of the noisy streets she cries out; At the entrance of the gates in the city she utters her sayings:
22"Howlong , O b2naiveones, will you lovecbeing simple-minded? And 3scoffersdelight themselves in scoffing And fools4hateknowledge?
23"Turn to my reproof, Behold, I will 5pour out my spirit on you; I will make my wordsknown to you.
24"Because6I called and you 7refused, I 8stretched out my hand and noonepaidattention;
And you 9neglectedall my counsel And did not 10want my reproof;
I will also11laugh at your 12calamity; I will mock when your 13dreadcomes,
When your dreadcomes like a storm And your calamitycomes like a 14whirlwind, When distress and anguishcome upon you.
28"Then they will 15call on me, but I will not answer; They will 16seek me diligently but they will not find me,
29Because they 17hatedknowledge And did not choose the fear of the LORD.
"They 18would not accept my counsel, They spurnedall my reproof.
