Appointa an evil manb to oppose him; let an accuserc1 stand at his right hand.
When he is tried, let him be found guilty,2 and may his prayers condemn3 him.
May his days be few;4 may another take his place5 of leadership.
May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow.610
May his children be wandering beggars;7 may they be drivend from their ruined homes.
May a creditor8 seize all he has; may strangers plunder9 the fruits of his labor.1012
May no one extend kindness to him or take pity11 on his fatherless children.
May his descendants be cut off,12 their names blotted out13 from the next generation.
May the iniquity of his fathers14 be remembered before the LORD; may the sin of his mother never be blotted out.
May their sins always remain before15 the LORD, that he may cut off the memory16 of them from the earth.
For he never thought of doing a kindness, but hounded to death the poor and the needy17 and the brokenhearted.1817
He loved to pronounce a curse-- may ite come on him;19 he found no pleasure in blessing-- may it bef far from him.
He wore cursing20 as his garment; it entered into his body like water,21 into his bones like oil.
May it be like a cloak wrapped22 about him, like a belt tied forever around him.
May this be the LORD's payment23 to my accusers, to those who speak evil24 of me.
