With your hand you drove out1 the nations and planted2 our fathers; you crushed3 the peoples and made our fathers flourish.4

It was not by their sword5 that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was your right hand,6 your arm,7 and the light8 of your face, for you loved9 them.

You are my King10 and my God,11 who decreesa victories12 for Jacob.

Through you we push back13 our enemies; through your name we trample14 our foes.

I do not trust in my bow,15 my sword does not bring me victory;
