O God, the nations have invaded your inheritance;1 they have defiled2 your holy temple, they have reduced Jerusalem to rubble.32
They have given the dead bodies of your servants as food to the birds of the air,4 the flesh of your saints to the beasts of the earth.53
They have poured out blood like water all around Jerusalem, and there is no one to bury6 the dead.74
We are objects of reproach to our neighbors, of scorn8 and derision to those around us.95
How long,10 O LORD? Will you be angry11 forever? How long will your jealousy burn like fire?126
Pour out your wrath13 on the nations that do not acknowledge14 you, on the kingdoms that do not call on your name;157
for they have devoured16 Jacob and destroyed his homeland.
