Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey away.
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "Rulers and elders of the people,
Then the captain went along with the officers and proceeded to bring them back without violence (for they were afraid of the people, that they might be stoned ).
Then they secretly induced men to say, "We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and against God."
"Then he left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. From there, after his father died, God had him move to this country in which you are now living.
Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Holy Spirit.
For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God. Then Peter answered,
And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay on for a few days.
Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
Then the proconsul believed when he saw what had happened, being amazed at the teaching of the Lord.
Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole church, to choose men from among them to send to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas -Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, leading men among the brethren,
Then immediately the brethren sent Paul out to go as far as the sea ; and Silas and Timothy remained there.
Then Paul answered, "What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart ? For I am ready not only to be bound, but even to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus."
Then Paul took the men, and the next day, purifying himself along with them, went into the temple giving notice of the completion of the days of purification, until the sacrifice was offered for each one of them.
Then the commander came up and took hold of him, and ordered him to be bound with two chains ; and he began asking who he was and what he had done.
Then Paul said to him, "God is going to strike you, you whitewashed wall ! Do you sit to try me according to the Law, and in violation of the Law order me to be struck ?"
Then when Festus had conferred with his council, he answered, "You have appealed to Caesar, to Caesar you shall go."
Agrippa said to Paul, "You are permitted to speak for yourself." Then Paul stretched out his hand and proceeded to make his defense :
When they had gone a long time without food, then Paul stood up in their midst and said, "Men, you ought to have followed my advice and not to have set sail from Crete and incurred this damage and loss.
Then the soldiers cut away the ropes of the ship's boat and let it fall away.
When they had been brought safely through, then we found out that the island was called Malta.
