40 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation!" 31 And he said, "Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?" And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. 38 Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, having heard that Peter was there , sent two men to him, imploring him, "Do not delay in coming to us." 23 Then when he arrived and witnessed the grace of God, he rejoiced and began to encourage them all with resolute heart to remain true to the Lord; 42 As Paul and Barnabas were going out, the people kept begging that these things might be spoken to them the next Sabbath. 22 strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying, "Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God." 32 Judas and Silas, also being prophets themselves, encouraged and strengthened the brethren with a lengthy message. 9 A vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing and appealing to him, and saying, "Come over to Macedonia and help us." 15 And when she and her household had been baptized, she urged us, saying, "If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and stay." And she prevailed upon us. 39 and they came and appealed to them, and when they had brought them out, they kept begging them to leave the city. 40 They went out of the prison and entered the house of Lydia, and when they saw the brethren, they encouraged them and departed. 31 Also some of the Asiarchs who were friends of his sent to him and repeatedly urged him not to venture into the theater.

Paul in Macedonia and Greece

1 After the uproar had ceased, Paul sent for the disciples, and when he had exhorted them and taken his leave of them, he left to go to Macedonia. 2 When he had gone through those districts and had given them much exhortation , he came to Greece. 12 They took away the boy alive, and were greatly comforted. 12 When we had heard this, we as well as the local residents began begging him not to go up to Jerusalem. 4 "But, that I may not weary you any further , I beg you to grant us, by your kindness, a brief hearing. 2 And the chief priests and the leading men of the Jews brought charges against Paul, and they were urging him, 33 Until the day was about to dawn, Paul was encouraging them all to take some food, saying, "Today is the fourteenth day that you have been constantly watching and going without eating, having taken nothing. 34 "Therefore I encourage you to take some food, for this is for your preservation, for not a hair from the head of any of you will perish." 14 There we found some brethren, and were invited to stay with them for seven days; and thus we came to Rome. 20 "For this reason, therefore, I requested to see you and to speak with you, for I am wearing this chain for the sake of the hope of Israel."
