Acts 2:1-4

Open that Bible of yours to Acts chapter two. We plan on being here in this chapter for quite some time as there is so much for us to unpack and apply. If you’ll recall last time we were together the disciples were told to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father. Here in chapter two, that promise arrives!

The Book of Acts records the birth of the New Testament Church in Acts 2 and the Gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John finish the foundation that was laid in the Old Testament of God's Plan for salvation. In the Old Testament and the Gospels, the Spirit of God, which is the Holy Spirit was not available to the average person. The promise of the Holy Ghost was given in the Old Testament but it was not given until Acts 2 on the Day of Pentecost. Jesus has never lied to us, and His Word will never fail us. He promised from the beginning that we belong to Him, and that He is holding us in the palm of His hand. And, we can rejoice in the fact that He will never leave us or forsake us, no matter what.
