26Therefore they calledthesedaysPurimafter the name of Pur. aAnd 1because of the instructions in thisletter, both what they had seen in thisregard and what had happened to them,
the Jewsestablished and bmade a custom for themselves and for their cdescendants and for 2all those who allied themselves with them, so that dthey would not fail3to celebratethesetwodays according to their eregulation and according to their appointedtimeannually .
So thesedays were to be remembered and celebrated throughout everygeneration, everyfamily, everyprovince and everycity ; and thesedays of Purim were not to ffail from among the Jews, or their memorygfade from their hdescendants.
Then QueenEsther, 4daughter of Abihail, with Mordecai the Jew, wrote with fullauthority to confirm5thissecondletter about Purim.
He sentletters to all the Jews, 6to the 127provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus, namely, words of peace and truth,
to establishthesedays of Purim at their appointedtimes, just as Mordecai the Jew and QueenEsther had established for them, and just as they had established for themselves and for their idescendants with jinstructions7for their times of fasting and their lamentations.
The command of Estherestablishedthesekcustoms for 8Purim, and it was written in the book.
