2 For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty, 2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also ; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard. 12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. 11 Concerning him we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant.

The Peril of Falling Away

1 Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 28 For the Law appoints men as high priests who are weak, but the word of the oath, which came after the Law, appoints a Son, made perfect forever. 19 and to the blast of a trumpet and the sound of words which sound was such that those who heard begged that no further word be spoken to them. 7 Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith. 17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you. 22 But I urge you, brethren, bear with this word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly .
