Then will the eyes of the blind be opened1 and the ears of the deaf2 unstopped.

Then will the lame3 leap like a deer,4 and the mute tongue5 shout for joy.6 Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams7 in the desert.

The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground8 bubbling springs.9 In the haunts where jackals10 once lay, grass and reeds11 and papyrus will grow.

And a highway12 will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness.13 The unclean14 will not journey on it; it will be for those who walk in that Way; wicked fools will not go about on it.a9
No lion15 will be there, nor will any ferocious beast16 get up on it; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed17 will walk there,

and the ransomed18 of the LORD will return. They will enter Zion with singing;19 everlasting joy20 will crown their heads. Gladness21 and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.22
