When you cry out1 for help, let your collection [of idols] save2 you! The wind will carry all of them off, a mere breath will blow3 them away. But the man who makes me his refuge4 will inherit the land5 and possess my holy mountain."6
And it will be said: "Build up, build up, prepare the road!7 Remove the obstacles out of the way of my people."815
For this is what the high and lofty9 One says-- he who lives forever,10 whose name is holy: "I live in a high11 and holy place, but also with him who is contrite12 and lowly in spirit,13 to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.1416
I will not accuse15 forever, nor will I always be angry,16 for then the spirit of man would grow faint before me-- the breath17 of man that I have created.
I was enraged by his sinful greed;18 I punished him, and hid19 my face in anger, yet he kept on in his willful ways.2018
I have seen his ways, but I will heal21 him; I will guide22 him and restore comfort23 to him,
creating praise on the lips24 of the mourners in Israel. Peace, peace,25 to those far and near,"26 says the LORD. "And I will heal them."
But the wicked27 are like the tossing sea,28 which cannot rest, whose waves cast up mire29 and mud.
"There is no peace,"30 says my God, "for the wicked."31
