"Although you have been forsaken1 and hated, with no one traveling2 through, I will make you the everlasting pride3 and the joy4 of all generations.
You will drink the milk of nations and be nursed5 at royal breasts. Then you will know6 that I, the LORD, am your Savior,7 your Redeemer,8 the Mighty One of Jacob.917
Instead of bronze I will bring you gold,10 and silver in place of iron. Instead of wood I will bring you bronze, and iron in place of stones. I will make peace11 your governor and righteousness your ruler.1218
No longer will violence13 be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction14 within your borders, but you will call your walls Salvation15 and your gates Praise.1619
The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light,17 and your God will be your glory.1820
Your sun19 will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow20 will end.
Then will all your people be righteous21 and they will possess22 the land forever. They are the shoot I have planted,23 the work of my hands,24 for the display of my splendor.2522
The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation.26 I am the LORD; in its time I will do this swiftly."27
