4 "In those days, at that time," declares the LORD, "the people of Israel and the people of Judah together¹ will go in tears² to seek³ the LORD their God. 5 They will ask the way⁴ to Zion and turn their faces toward it. They will come⁵ and bind themselves to the LORD in an everlasting covenant⁶ that will not be forgotten. 6 "My people have been lost sheep;⁷ their shepherds⁸ have led them astray⁹ and caused them to roam on the mountains. They wandered over mountain and hill¹⁰ and forgot their own resting place.¹¹ 7 Whoever found them devoured¹² them; their enemies said, 'We are not guilty,¹³ for they sinned against the LORD, their true pasture, the LORD, the hope¹⁴ of their fathers.' 8 "Flee¹⁵ out of Babylon;¹⁶ leave the land of the Babylonians, and be like the goats that lead the flock.
