Will you keep to the old path that evil men1 have trod?2
16
They were carried off before their time,3 their foundations4 washed away by a flood.5
17
They said to God, 'Leave us alone! What can the Almighty do to us?'6
18
Yet it was he who filled their houses with good things,7 so I stand aloof from the counsel of the wicked.8

"The righteous see their ruin and rejoice;9 the innocent mock10 them, saying,

'Surely our foes are destroyed,11 and fire12 devours their wealth.'
