15 John testified about Him and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.' " 30 "This is He on behalf of whom I said, 'After me comes a Man who has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.' 41 He found first his own brother Simon and said to him, "We have found the Messiah " (which translated means Christ ). 10 and said to him, "Every man serves the good wine first, and when the people have drunk freely, then he serves the poorer wine; but you have kept the good wine until now." 4 for an angel of the Lord went down at certain seasons into the pool and stirred up the water ; whoever then first, after the stirring up of the water, stepped in was made well from whatever disease with which he was afflicted.] 51 "Our Law does not judge a man unless it first hears from him and knows what he is doing, does it?" 7 But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." 40 And He went away again beyond the Jordan to the place where John was first baptizing, and He was staying there. 16 These things His disciples did not understand at the first ; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of Him, and that they had done these things to Him.

Disciples' Relation to the World

18 "If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. 13 and led Him to Annas first ; for he was father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was high priest that year. 32 So the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first man and of the other who was crucified with Him; 39 Nicodemus, who had first come to Him by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds weight. 4 The two were running together ; and the other disciple ran ahead faster than Peter and came to the tomb first ; 8 So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed.
