Young's Literal Translation
And the child grew , and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.
As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying , The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.
And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed .
And when the messengers of John were departed , he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see ? A reed shaken with the wind?
And the apostles, when they were returned , told him all that they had done . And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.
And when the day began to wear away , then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away , that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge , and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place.
Behold , your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you , Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say , Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost , until he find it?
