Listen to what the LORD says: "Stand up, plead your case before the mountains;1 let the hills hear what you have to say.

Hear,2 O mountains, the LORD's accusation;3 listen, you everlasting foundations of the earth. For the LORD has a case4 against his people; he is lodging a charge5 against Israel.

I brought you up out of Egypt8 and redeemed you from the land of slavery.9 I sent Moses10 to lead you, also Aaron11 and Miriam.125
My people, remember what Balak13 king of Moab counseled and what Balaam son of Beor answered. Remember [ your journey] from Shittim14 to Gilgal,15 that you may know the righteous acts16 of the LORD."
