Jesus Foretells His Death

21 From that time Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day. 10 And His disciples asked Him, "Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?" 33 'Should you not also have had mercy on your fellow slave, in the same way that I had mercy on you?' 23 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others. 6 "You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. 27 'Then you ought to have put my money in the bank, and on my arrival I would have received my money back with interest. 35 Peter said to Him, "Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You." All the disciples said the same thing too. 54 "How then will the Scriptures be fulfilled, which say that it must happen this way?"
