4 Now John himself had a garment of camel's hair and a leather belt around his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey. 3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 10 "Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 46 "For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 "If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet: "HE HIMSELF TOOK OUR INFIRMITIES AND CARRIED AWAY OUR DISEASES." 24 And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered with the waves; but Jesus Himself was asleep. 14 "And if you are willing to accept it, John himself is Elijah who was to come. 16 and warned them not to tell who He was. 8 And lifting up their eyes, they saw no one except Jesus Himself alone. 41 They said to Him, "He will bring those wretches to a wretched end, and will rent out the vineyard to other vine-growers who will pay him the proceeds at the proper seasons." 34 But when the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered themselves together . 4 "They tie up heavy burdens and lay them on men's shoulders, but they themselves are unwilling to move them with so much as a finger.#rl 21 "And whoever swears by the temple, swears both by the temple and by Him who dwells within it.#rl 44 "Then they themselves also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?' 44 And He left them again, and went away and prayed a third time, saying the same thing once more.

Jesus' Betrayal and Arrest

47 While He was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came up accompanied by a large crowd with swords and clubs, who came from the chief priests and elders of the people. 7 And they conferred together and with the money bought the Potter's Field as a burial place for strangers. 17 So when the people gathered together, Pilate said to them, "Whom do you want me to release for you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?" 44 The robbers who had been crucified with Him were also insulting Him with the same words.

Jesus Is Buried

57 When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus.
