Young's Literal Translation
And the rulers knew not whither I went , or what I did ; neither had I as yet told it to the Jews, nor to the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the rulers, nor to the rest that did the work.
And our adversaries said , They shall not know , neither see , till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and cause the work to cease .
And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought , that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work.
And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God.
And all the people went their way to eat , and to drink , and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them.
And shewedst signs and wonders upon Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land: for thou knewest that they dealt proudly against them. So didst thou get thee a name, as it is this day.
And madest known unto them thy holy sabbath, and commandedst them precepts, statutes, and laws, by the hand of Moses thy servant:
And the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the porters, the singers , the Nethinims, and all they that had separated themselves from the people of the lands unto the law of God, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, every one having knowledge , and having understanding ;
And I perceived that the portions of the Levites had not been given them: for the Levites and the singers , that did the work, were fled every one to his field.
