If we had forgotten the name of our God Or extended our hands to a strange god,
For strangers have risen against me And violent men have sought my life ; They have not set God before them. Selah.
The wicked are estranged from the womb ; These who speak lies go astray from birth.
I have become estranged from my brothers And an alien to my mother's sons.
Before they had satisfied their desire, While their food was in their mouths,
"Let there be no strange god among you; Nor shall you worship any foreign god.
Let the creditor seize all that he has, And let strangers plunder the product of his labor.
