Those who seek my life set their traps,1 those who would harm me talk of my ruin;2 all day long they plot deception.313
I am like a deaf man, who cannot hear,4 like a mute, who cannot open his mouth;
I have become like a man who does not hear, whose mouth can offer no reply.
I wait5 for you, O LORD; you will answer,6 O Lord my God.
For I said, "Do not let them gloat7 or exalt themselves over me when my foot slips."817
For I am about to fall,9 and my pain10 is ever with me.
I confess my iniquity;11 I am troubled by my sin.
Many are those who are my vigorous enemies;12 those who hate me13 without reason14 are numerous.
Those who repay my good with evil15 slander16 me when I pursue what is good.
O LORD, do not forsake me;17 be not far18 from me, O my God.
Come quickly19 to help me,20 O Lord my Savior.21
